PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long screw for installing a roof member, and a method of manufacturing that capable of easily increasing a screw diameter at a thick diameter screw shaft part on the head part side, achieving excellent productivity, and enabling economical production. SOLUTION: In this roof member installing screw 50, a first member 20 comprising a long threadless shaft part 22 and a thin diameter screw shaft part 23 for fastening continuous with each other is jointed with a second member 30 comprising a head part 36 provided at one end of the screw shaft part 35 having a thicker diameter than the threadless shaft part 22 by electric resistance welding to be integrated with it, and a hole boring means such as a drill part 24 is provided at a tip part of the screw shaft part 23 for fastening. Threads 23a and 25a are then formed on the screw shaft part 23 for fastening and the thick diameter screw shaft part 35 by rolling work.
