摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active vibration control device that needs no power sources such as a hydraulic pump, can actively control vibration generated in a superstructure with optimum resistance force of an active damper even when a large earthquake and the like occurs to do damage such as a service interruption, establishes stable seismic control performance irrespective of the direction of vibration, and is structurally simple to make contribution to a cost reduction. SOLUTION: A base isolation layer 3 is interposed between a superstructure 1 and a substructure 2, with a pair of hydraulic cylinders 6 and 7 constituting an active damper 5 in an opposed relation, and the tips of rods 6b and 7b of the hydraulic cylinders are pressed on sides of either structure forming the base isolation layer. Oil chambers of the pair of hydraulic cylinders are interconnected by a communicating pipe 8. A control valve 9 is interposed in the communicating pipe, and a controller 11 is provided to control the control valve. A displacement gauge 10 is provided to measure the degree of displacement under a vibration, and the measured value is inputted into the controller 11. The controller, which computes in advance a resistance coefficient by analysis, controls the control valve according to the measured value to generate resistance force in the hydraulic cylinder located in the direction of displacement, and controls the resistance force according to the degree of displacement to actively suppress vibration generated in the superstructure 1. A power source for the controller is provided with a backup battery, which is continuously charged up.
