PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a method and apparatus for constructing a concrete dam body, which can continuously place concrete even if buried structures are present, arbitrarily adjust the width and gradient of the placed concrete, and construct the dam body in a safe and highly efficient manner. SOLUTION: The apparatus for constructing the concrete dam body includes a form having a shape conforming to the dam body and a means for moving the form, and it is constructed such that an upper portion thereof is formed into a gate structure higher in height than the buried structure, and that a girder portion of the gate structure is formed wider in width than the buried structure. Then, the form portion of the apparatus is set at a starting end of the dam body, and the form is moved in a direction that constructs the dam body while supplying concrete from its hopper, whereby concrete surfaces on upstream and downstream portions of the dam body is constructed.
