PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accurate sediment detecting method for a pneumatic force-feeding sediment transport device. SOLUTION: The pneumatic force-feeding sediment transport device allows a fluid F, wherein an air phase E and a sediment phase D exist alternately, to move through a mud carrying pipe 2 and supplies a hardener C for the purpose of processing the sediment D as solidified earth. An intermediate pipe body 9 is displaceably supported on part of the pipe 2 on the upstream side of the coupling part 1a of the a hardener supplying device 1 by the weight of the fluid D moving through the pipe body 9. The displacement of the pipe body 9 is detected by a load meter 15, and the rate and volume of transportation of the sediment phase D are determined according to a signal from the load meter 15 by means of an arithmetic unit 18. Furthermore, the control of the device 1 permits the hardener C to be supplied to the sediment phase D.
