PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new sawing technique wherein though a log of a small- diameter is made a sawing object, operation can be efficiently carried out, and an installation cost can be also decreased. SOLUTION: In a method for sawing wherein a shape and a size of a log AO are measured, an optimum sawing pattern method is determined after considering a market condition and the like, the log AO is drum-sawn by primary sawing based on the sawing pattern, and further square-sawn by secondary sawing, a material A receives sawing by being held with a clamp device 26 of a non-rotary type at both butt ends for both of the primary sawing and the secondary sawing, and a marking M is applied to a position crossing almost at right angles a sawn grain surface S through a sawing pattern center C to the sawn grain surface S of the drum material A2 at a fore stage leading to the secondary sawing after the first sawing. When the secondary sawing is carried out, the marking M is conformed almost to a secondary sawing core LB becoming a sawing center, and the secondary sawing is carried out.
