Covering for the heat insulation and solar heating of outdoor swimming pools

The subject of the invention is a device which permits outdoor swimming pools to be covered, so as to protect them from heat losses, dirt, winter weather, etc., or alternatively to be heated by solar power. The device essentially comprises a flexible mat which is composed of a system of communicating cavities which may optionally be filled with air (use as covering for heat insulation) or with water. In the latter case, the solar-heated water of the mat is intermittently exchanged, by a temperature-controlled pump, for colder water from the bottom of the swimming pool. Winding-up and unrolling mechanisms correspond to the prior art.
