PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for ink jet printing using a recording element having a rapid ink drying time and to provide a method for ink jet printing using a recording element having a high gloss. SOLUTION: The method for ink jet printing comprises (A) a step of preparing an ink jet printer responding to a digital data signal, (B) a step of mounting an ink jet recording element containing an opaque support carrying an image receiving layer containing porous polymer particles in a polymer binder in the printer so that the particles have a median diameter of less than 1 μm and a crosslinking degree of 21 mol% or more, (C) a step of filling an ink jet ink composition in the printer, and (D) a step of printing the ink jet recording element by using the ink jet ink in response to the data signal. |
