PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique related to general-purpose receiving/ transmitting parts to energy-saving type of display illumination or high-speed optical communication. SOLUTION: This device has a light guide plate, where light guides surrounded by reflection faces are lined up and a light-receiving plate where light-receiving/emitting elements are lined up are integrated. The light guide is tapered to the side of the light-receiving/emitting element, and the light guide and the light-receiving/emitting element are lined up on the same optical axis. For the light guide plate, the light guide is processed into a recess form in the inside. The electrode on the side of light reception and emission of the light-receiving/emitting element is arranged around the light-receiving/emitting face, and it is to be desired that the end face of the light guide and the receiving/emitting part of the light-receiving/emitting element be connected to each other. It is desirable that the inside of the light guide be sealed airtightly with a highly reliable light transmitter. It is desirable that the light- receiving/emitting device be of a structure which is not only for full-surface use but partial use is also possible. |
