PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor material installing structure which can afford comfortable feeling to users, and enhances the comfortableness during walking, and to provide a floor material installing method. SOLUTION: According to the floor material installing structure, the floor material (1) has a recess (2) formed in a rear surface thereof. When the floor materials (1) thus formed are arranged side by side and installed, an elastic body (3) is arranged in each recess (2) such that a slight gap is formed at a central portion of the recess (2).
