Manufacture of foamed elastomeric stoppers replacing corks in bottles for alcoholic drinks, employs chemical foaming agent

The stoppers are made by foaming the plastic starting material, using a chemical foaming agent. An Independent claim is included for the foamed stopper produced. This denies access to oxygen and prevents release of free sulfur dioxide, as with a natural cork stopper. The bottle with stopper is also claimed. To remove it from the bottle, a pull of 30 daN /! 10 daN is required.
