PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger and a structure for mounting a heat exchanger attaining increase in a degree of freedom to select a place for mounting the heat exchanger, suppression of deterioration of an oil cooling property during stationary operation, and reduction of a manufacturing cost thereof. SOLUTION: In a body 15 of a heat exchanger 11, oil of a transmission and engine cooling water are heat-exchanged there between. The body 15 comprises an oil inlet pipe 20, an oil outlet pipe 21, a water inlet pipe 22 and a water outlet pipe 23. The oil inlet pipe 20 and the oil outlet pipe 21 of the body 15 are connectable through oil piping to the transmission, whereby a place for mounting a heat exchanger 11 can be optionally selected, direct receipt of heat from the transmission can be avoided, oil piping can be shortened, and its distribution becomes easy.
