SURGE DETECTION DEVICE OF GAS TURBINE ENGINE FOR AIRCRAFT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect the occurrence and a degree of surge without misidentifying the surge as deceleration and a misfire while eliminating the necessity of detecting an acceleration condition in a surge detection device of a gas turbine engine for an aircraft. SOLUTION: A product of a ratio of a high pressure compressor outlet pressure to its time change value, fP3dot/P3 and a time change value of a turbine inlet temperature, fT45dot (or a ratio of it to turbine inlet temperature, fT45dot/ T45) is calculated and is compared with threshold value K to detect the occurrence of surge when the product is smaller than the threshold value K.
