PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam-hopping self-addressed designation packet switching communication system which reduces power consumption by way of power gating a downlink beam frame. SOLUTION: A downlink beam frame signal processing system 100 for a communication satellite includes a packet switch 608, which routes self-addressed designation uplink data to a memory 804. The memory 804 stores at least queues for the first and the second downlink beam hop positions 302 and 304. The processing system 100 includes a power amplifier 108, which amplifies the waveform formed using uplink data. A power gate circuit 1200 coupled to the power amplifier includes a power gate input 1216 which responds to power gate signals, and transmits signals after RF power is removed at least from a part of the waveform. |
