PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing in which damages such as galling, seizure and the like can hardly occur while restraining cost rise, even under poor lubri cating conditions. SOLUTION: An amount of waviness of an inner ring 5 in axial direction, in relation with an inside face 11 of a flange part 8 on larger diameter side in circumferential direction, is assumed to be an axial runout δ. Composite roughness of a contact portion between the inside face 11 and a head part 10 of a tapered roller 6 is denoted by σ. One of the condition, δ<=8 μm and σ<=0.22 μm RMS, or δ<=12 μm and σ<=0.18 μm RMS, or δ<=16 μm and σ<=0.13 μm RMS, is to be satisfied.
