PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for an expansion joint, allowing a frictional sound to be abated in an expansion joint part. SOLUTION: Styrofoam (R) 30 is disposed in a position (the expansion joint part (EJ pat) 3) adjacent to a first concrete structure 1. A plurality of projecting parts 30a are installed in the side surface abutting on the concrete structure 1 of the Styrofoam (R) 30. The side surface having the projecting parts 30a is disposed in such a manner as to abut on the concrete structure 1 for the purpose of enabling a reduction in the contact area of precast concrete 10 and the Styrofoam (R) 30 and suppression of the frictional sound. In addition, a post-cast separator 21 is detached after post-cast concrete 20 is placed to be able to eliminate the sound caused by friction with the Styrofoam (R) 30 in the EJ part 3.
