PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor forming material which is available for such a case as where a building floor surface such as an entrance beaten floor is renovated as a tiled floor, and can readily fill cavities formed around a tile work, and to provide a tiling method using the floor forming material. SOLUTION: The floor forming materials 8 and 9 are each obtained by backing a rear surface of a woody plate 2 with a resin plate 3. One side of the resin plate 3 is protruded from one side of the woody plate 2, and the other side of the former is retracted from the other side of the latter. Then, an adhesive net 4 formed of a rubber net with a resin or the like, is laid on the floor surface 11, and tiles 5 formed of ceramic or stone are laid and arranged on the floor surface. The floor forming materials 8 and 9 are cut into pieces, and the cavities around the tile work (to which tiles 5 are stuck) are filled with the pieces which have suitable sizes. Each of the floor forming materials 8 and 9 has the resin plate 3 protruded from its one side 8a or 9a, and the protruded portion of the resin plate 3 is engaged with the resin plate retracted portion on the other side 8b or 9b.
