PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silencer simplified in structure and reduced in cost without lowering a muffler effect. SOLUTION: This silencer 10 is provided with a main body 12 mounted on a vacuum generator 110 and a box-shaped case 14 mounted on the main body 12. In an, internal space of the case 14, a buffer material 36 and muffler materials 38 and 40 are stored. In the muffler material 38, air is introduced to the inside by inserting a passage 44 into a cylinder part 22 of the main body 12 for introducing air injected from an exhaust port 114 of the vacuum generator 110. Air introduced into the muffler material 38 is silenced because energy is taken away while air is discharged to a passage 46 of the muffler material 40 and air is discharged from an exhaust port 34. Therefore, the structure of the case 14 is simplified, working can be easily performed and the silencer becomes inexpensive.
