PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber and an optical fiber wiring board using its optical fiber which is specially optimal as the optical fiber wiring board and is suitable for a usage environment under which bending is frequently performed. SOLUTION: The optical fiber 220 the mode field diameter of which is set to almost the same as the mode field diameter of a communicating optical fiber is wired on a substrate 210 to constitute the optical fiber wiring board 200 by making the specific refractive index differenceΔlarger than the specific refractive index differenceΔ0 of a communicating single mode type optical fiber and enlarging the core diameter more than the core diameter of the communicating optical fiber.
