<p>An expiration date management system for managing the expiration date of a terminal by an effective method. The system comprises a terminal (60) and a server (40) for managing the expiration date of the terminal (60). The server manages the expiration dates of the terminal, the functions of the terminal, and the contents individually. The terminal receives an instruction to update the expiration date from the server and stores the updated expiration date of a function. When the terminal, one of the functions, or one of the contents is accessed, the function can be actuated only when the present date and time (present time) is within the expiration date of the function. The system ensures a communication chance that the terminal accesses the server. By exploiting the chance, the server can collect data that the terminal holds, and necessary software can be transferred from the server to the terminal.</p> |
