摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for decontaminating atmospheric air by suctioning, using a turbo-molecular pump subjecting the air to pressure bubbling through a horizontal pipe system that is perforated on its top and placed inside two tanks respectively containing water at zero to four degrees centigrade and calcium hydroxide until the maximum decontamination level has been reached. Inside the first tank, contaminants sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen monoxide form sulfurous, sulfuric, carbonic and nitric acids that are neutralized by pumping calcium hydroxide from the adjacent storage tank, wherein sulfates, carbonates and nitrates are obtained. Said substances will be directly obtained in the second tank. Suspended particles will be trapped in the liquids. Alike the salts, said particles will settle as sediment. Suctioning is performed from the bottom by the horizontal pipe network system with perforations on the lower part thereof and the suctioned substances are sent to outer filters by means of a hydraulic pump. Ozone will be broken down into oxygen (inside the air chamber) by contacting with organic rubber curtains and heating with an electrical resistance network system placed on the ceiling of the vault. Decontaminated air is expelled to the outside by means of a chimney provided with a turbo-molecular pump, said air rising into the atmosphere by convection.</p>
