The invention relates to a head for a dust vacuum cleaner comprising open chamber vacuum means connected to a vacuum source by means of an appropriate conduit, said open chamber means being partly closed when the head is applied on the surface to be treated and defining at least one vacuum front. Said open chamber means comprise several open chamber parts (10a, 10b, 10c) that are built into several structural elements (12a, 12b, 12c) which are mechanically and movably connected to one another. Said open chamber parts (10a, 10b, 10c) communicate mutually within a desired range of relative positions, at least one of said open chamber parts (10c) being connected to said vacuum source. The entire assembly has a variable geometric configuration which, when applied on the surface to be treated, defines the above-mentioned vacuum front which also has a variable configuration.
