The transport container for sheet glass has an opening front wall allowing access to the interior. One or more sets of rails (8) extend at right angles to the front wall (3), each having a first section fixed to the container bottom, and a second folding near the front wall to swing downwards and outwards when this is open. Supporting panels (13) for the sheet glass can slide along the rails. The wheels can be contained within the outline of the panels in the lengthwise and transverse directions.
