A number of light-emitting fibers (200) in side-by-side array comprise a module (10) which may be or may be assembled into a display (20). Each fiber (200) includes a number of light-emitting elements (290) disposed along an optical fiber (210), such as an electro-luminescent material (270), e.g., an OLED material, disposed between hole injecting and electron injecting electrodes (260, 280). A module (10) includes a bent printed circuit board (100) having conductors (140, 142) connected to contacts on the light-emitting fibers (200), such as by solder, conductive adhesive and the like (145). The circuit board (100) is formed by cutting a groove (124) therein, bending the circuit board (100) and securing the bent shape with adhesive (120). A display (20) is formed of modules ( 10) mounted to a faceplate (30) and preferably has moisture resistant sealant (40, 42, 44) applied around the perimeter.
