The invention relates to an electromechanical disc brake (10). According to the invention, the disc brake (10) is formed with two friction brake linings (40, 42) each arranged on one side of a brake disc (14), which may be pressed against a brake disc (14), by means of an operating device (16) in the form of an electric motor. Furthermore, both friction brake linings (40, 42) are supported on a wedge element (52), by means of two supports (46, 48), running at an angle to the brake disc (14) in opposing directions. Said wedge element runs by sliding in a brake calliper (12) by means of a thrust bearing (56) parallel to the brake disc (14). The wedge element (52) exercises a pressing force in addition to the pressing force in the operating direction (16) on applying pressure to the friction brake linings (40, 42), by means of the supports (46, 48) which run at an angle. A braking servo effect results.
