The invention relates to a belt fastener for joining the ends (2) of conveyer belts. Said belt fastener comprises metal strips (4, 4a) bridging the dividing gap (3) between the two ends of the conveyer belts on the upper surface of the conveyer belts and the lower surface of the conveyer belts. The metal strips on the upper surface of the conveyer belts (4) and the lower surface of the conveyer belts (4a) are joined together by the fastening pins (5) which penetrate at least the metal strips on the upper side of the conveyer belts. An especially flexible belt fastener characterised by a long shelf life is thus provided.
