Catalyst element for stack plate reactor and process for preparing it

Catalyst element (1) consists of a catalyst plate made of a porous material and a sturdy connecting element (3) whose side on the catalyst side is enclosed by and connected to the catalyst plate. Fixing devices (6) are provided on the exposed end of the connecting element facing away from the catalyst. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a stacking reactor for producing hydrogen from hydrocarbons containing the catalyst element; (b) a process for producing a catalyst element comprising connecting the surface of a connecting element to a mediator layer by sintering, soldering or adhering, and connecting the free side of the mediator layer to the catalyst plate by sintering; and (c) a process for producing a stacking reactor comprising forming a catalyst element and sintering the element with catalyst plates in a stacking state.
