The gear arrangement has an engagement shaft (11), which is rotatable and axially displaceable in a housing (10), and which is attached to a non-rotatable gear lever (12). The gear lever is kinematically connected with a hand gear lever (13). An additional mass (14) acts on the gear lever, to increase its mass inertia moment so that power peaks measured on the hand gear lever during individual gear changes are reduced. The kinematic connection between the gear lever and the hand gear lever has a link (15) with a link half (16) on the gear lever forming part of the connection and a link half (18) on the rod (17) leading to the hand gear lever forming a further part of the connection. The link half that is connected to the hand gear lever rod is connected with the rod by an elastic attenuator (19) acting in the power flux of the operating force.
