The present invention relates to a novel secretory protein or salts thereof, methods of manufacturing the protein, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the protein, an antibody to the protein, screening methods/screening kits for a compound or salts thereof that promotes or inhibits activities of the protein, etc. The protein of the present invention can be used as prophylactic/therapeutic agents for various diseases such as cancer, immunologicl diseases, pulmonary dysfunction, liver dysfunction, infection or gastrointestinal disorders, etc. The antibody of the present invention can be used for quantification of the protein of the present invention in the test solution. Furthermore, the protein of the present invention is useful as the reagent for screening a compound that either promotes or inhibits activities of the protein of the present invention.
