A golf club head 20 comprises a body 22 with a striking plate (30, figure 2), a heel end 26, a toe end 28, and a cavity; said cavity houses a weighting member 24 which in turn comprises a multiple component material having at least a high-density component, a binding component and an anti-oxidising component. Said anti-oxidising component may be formed from chromium, nickel-chrome, stainless steel, nickel superalloy or other chromium alloys, titanium, zirconium, or aluminium. Said high-density component may be formed from tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, platinum or rhodium. Said binding component may be formed from copper, copper alloys or tin. In a preferred embodiment the multiple component material may comprise tungsten, copper and an anti-oxidising component. Said golf club head 20 may be an iron, a driver, a fairway wood or a putter. |
