PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily take out laundry from the inside of a washing tank of a washing machine, prevent the size of a housing from increasing and simplify the construction thereof. SOLUTION: In this washing machine 1, the washing tank 3 is suspended and supported in the housing 2 by means of a plurality of hanging rods 4 in such a manner that the center line CL of the tank 3 is inclined at an angle K between 5 and 20 degrees with respect to the vertical line VL, thereby disposing the upper part of the tank 3 near the front of the tank 3. Only the top part of the front side 2a of the housing 2 is expanded toward the front side according to the inclination of the tank 3. The housing 2 is formed from a front plate 22 forming the front side 2a, left and right sides 2b, 2c, and a main member 21 forming a rear side 2d, each member being separately formed, whereby the housing can be formed at a low cost. A reinforcing material 25 is provided on the front of the housing 2 to reinforce the periphery of an opening 21b.
