PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a showcase capable of moving a movable shelf part quantity of displayed merchandise and the size of the merchandise, changing the area for displaying the merchandise to the optimal one, and allowing a person to carry out the related moving work smoothly. SOLUTION: A shelf 30 comprises a fixed shelf part 34 fixed inside a display room 11 and a movable shelf part 33 laid over the top of the fixed shelf part 34 in such a way that it is movable frontward/backward relative to the fixed shelf part 34. The area for displaying the merchandise in the shelf 30 can be changed according to the stopping position of the movable shelf part 33, and a sheet 50 with a low coefficient of friction is stuck on the bottom surface of the movable shelf part 33.
