PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of reducing damage of a motor or reduction gear mechanism and noise emission therefrom. SOLUTION: Compression coil springs 57 and 59 are interposed between a worm shaft 51 and ball bearings 53 and 55, and the worm shaft 51 is arranged movable for a specified amount in the axial direction while it deforms these springs 57 and 59 resiliently. The worm shaft 51 is coupled with the output shaft 75 of the motor 35 through an adapter 73. At the forefront of the adapter 73, a worm shaft 51 is press-fitted with a torque limiter 77 of friction type interposed. Female serration 79 is formed at the base end of the adapter 73, and male serration 81 formed on the output shaft 75 is engaged with the female serration 79, and thereby the output shaft 75 and adapter 73 can make relative movement in the axial direction. |
