PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the difficulty in using a residual stem treating apparatus continuously for a long period of time owing to the clogging of the lower part of a cutting apparatus with the crop stem and the second leaf grown under the crop stem in the case of cutting the crop stem planted on the ground with a residual stem cutting apparatus attached to the front part of a mobile farm machine. SOLUTION: The cutting apparatus 4 is provided with rotary blades 2, 2... attached to a vertical rotary shaft 1 in axial direction in plural stages interposing a definite spacing and receiving blades 3, 3... positioned opposite to the rotary blades 2, 2.... The outer circumference of the cutting apparatus 4 is surrounded by a cover 6 to form an opening 5 at the front part. In the residual stem treating apparatus 7 having the above structure, the lowermost cutting part 8 of the cutting apparatus 4 is provided with a rejection plate 9 above the rotary blade 2.
