PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting hook that can ensure a smooth and reliable insertion and withdrawal of a hook member and stable and efficient work. SOLUTION: A middle portion 16 of a hooked hook member 12, which is to be passed through a hole 49 in bed sheet iron 47, is formed with a substantially circular or elliptic section. When the hook member 12 is inserted in or withdrawn from the hole 49 in the bed sheet iron 47, although the periphery of the middle portion 16 passed through the hole 49 in the bed sheet iron 47 is in sliding contact with the inner circumference of the hole 49, the substantially circularly or elliptically formed sectional form of the middle portion 16 can reduce contact resistance caused, during the sliding contact, between the inner circumference of the hole 49 and the periphery of the middle portion 16.
