PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for dyeing having a good solubility in a medium, excellent fastness, being comparatively nonselective and capable of providing a color having strong luster. SOLUTION: This composition for dyeing is obtained by allowing a proper medium for dyeing to include 5-methylpyrazolo[1,5-α]pyrimidine-3,7-diamine of the structure of the formula, and additional salts thereof with an acid or a base without containing N-(2-hydroxybenzene)carbamate type or N-(2- hydroxybenzene)urea-type coupler introduced thereto.
