PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To and provide a method for producing both useful phenylboronic acid triphenylboroxin in a high yield at a low cost. SOLUTION: A phenyl Grignard reagent represented by formula 1 (R1 is a substituent group at the 2-, 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-positon and is hydrogen, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkoxy group or a halogen atom; (n) is 1 or 2, when (n) is 2, each R1 may be the same or different) is reacted with a boric acid ester represented by general formula 2 (R2 is an alkyl group or a phenyl group; and X is chlorine or bromine) dissolved in a non-ether aromatic solvent at -10 to +15 deg.C to give a phenylboronic acid represented by general formula 3. Then the phenylboronic acid is dehydrated to give a triphenylboroxin of represented by general formula 4. Toluene, benzene or their mixture is preferably used as the non-ether aromatic solvent.
