PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding and jointing method of a sand mold having higher dimensional precision and productivity than the conventional method, and the sand mold using this method. SOLUTION: This method peculiarly contains a process for constituting two cavities for molding the half-splitted molds by jointing a right metallic mold, a left metallic mold and an intermediate metallic mold interposed between these molds, a process for simultaneously molding two half-splitted molds by filling and hardening molding sand using chemical binder into the cavities, a process for retreating the intermediate metallic mold under state of holding the half-splitted molds in the right and the left metallic molds at the same time of opening the right and the left metallic molds and a process for completing the mold by jointing two half-splitted molds after inserting a core selectively using the same chemical binder as the half-splitted molds into the half-splitted molds.
