PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the heat loss of a cabinet while saving energy by lowering heat transmission between the inside and outside of storage and between cold and hot merchandise chambers in the storage by a simple means without chang ing the structure of the cabinet. SOLUTION: This cabinet 1 for a vending machine is partitioned into a plurality of merchandise chambers by heat insulating partition walls 4 arranged in the storage of a heat insulating casing, and equipped with merchandise storage racks for every merchandise chamber and cooling/heating units 7 with fans on the bottom side. The heat insulating easing and the heat insulating partition walls are of sandwich structure with a heat insulating foam material filled between steel plates. Heat insulating sheets 9 formed of polyethylene sheets or the like are hung on the internal wall surface of each merchandise chamber, in a separated state leaving a retained air layer without coming in close contact with the wall surface so that cold air or warm air flow blown into the chamber from the cooling/heating unit flows on the surface of the heat insulating sheets. Heat transmission between the inside and outside of the storage and between the hot and cold chambers is thereby suppressed to reduce heat loss.
