PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary head drum device, capable of preventing generation of a preload loss caused by conventional screwing operation by adhering a preload member, while a preload is being applied between inner rings of a ball bearing. SOLUTION: A rotary head drum device 10 is provided with a fixed drum 2, having bearings 40a and 40b inside, a rotary drum 1 fixed to a shaft 3 inserted through the bearings 40a and 40b so as to be rotatably supported with respect to the fixed drum 2, and the preload member 26 fixed to the shaft 3 so as to apply the preload to the bearings 40a and 40b from the fixed drum 2 side. In this case, a groove portion 28 is formed in the axial direction of the preload member 26 fixed to the shaft 3, and the groove portion 28 is filled with an adhesive 29.
