<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost linear synchronous motor that uses few for permanent magnets. SOLUTION: A passage, where a moving element runs is divided into a drive section 9 and so on and a non-drive section 10 and so on. A drive permanent magnet 8 and so on are disposed in the drive section 9 and so on. The permanent magnet of a rare-earth family having a big thrust is used for the driving permanent magnet 8 and the like. In these sections, acceleration and deceleration of the traveling speed of the moving element as well as a start and a stop of the element are conducted by the drive permanent magnet in a short time. The drive permanent magnet is not mounted in the non-drive section 10 and the moving element runs therein by inertial force, being neither accelerated nor decelerated. A positional-detecting permanent magnet 12 and the like is mounted in the non-drive section 10 in place of the drive permanent magnet. The drive section for disposing the expensive drive permanent magnet can be formed shorter than the non-drive section which dispose the low-cost positional-detection permanent magnet by the use of the permanent magnet of a rare-earth family having a big thrust.</p> |
