PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the storing time for each color without providing a special function such as a shutter to the side of a line sensor by easily and surely realizing the complicated processing of one line in a simple way. SOLUTION: A section for reading effective picture data, a section for sweeping out an electric charge stored in the reading section and synchronizing and a section where storing times different for each color can be set are provided in the period of one line. A line sensor is driven by a transfer frequency required for reading in the reading section and it is driven at high speed in the other sections.
