PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that the operation efficiency of a fuel cell system is low due to exhaustion of off gas including hydrogen to the outside and, when the off gas is exhausted to the outside, there is danger that the hydrogen in the off gas mixes with ambient air to become combustible gas. SOLUTION: This fuel cell system is provided with a burner combusting the hydrogen in the off gas to combust the off gas by the burner. The burner is set to a catalytic combustion system so that the combustion to the wider air-fuel ratio becomes possible and the hydrogen in the off gas can be surely combusted. The combustion heat in combusting the off gas is utilized for the transformation of water into vapor, heating of the vapor, heating of the combustion and heating of the air so as to enhance the efficiency of the fuel cell system. |
