PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal output device that can automatically discriminate which signal is valid among signal inputs outputted from the same unit so as to provide an output of the valid signal. SOLUTION: This signal output device is provided with an output signal inquiry section (108) that inquires of a unit (20) outputting a plurality of kinds of signals (digital/analog) as to the kind of the output signal, a valid input signal discrimination section (120) that discriminates which input signal is valid among the signal inputs (digital/analog) from the unit (20) on the basis of the result of inquiry, and a data output section (122) that outputs data corresponding to the valid input signal on the basis of the result of discrimination.
