The invention concerns a device comprising a body (25) having a pad (32), two pivoting cams (41); and system (42) actuating at least one of said cams (41) in case the user or a load falls off. The invention is characterised in that the body (25) has an elongated opening (35) for receiving the member (21) enabling the user to be secured to the device (20), in particular a safety hook; the two cams (41) are positioned spaced apart from each other and the system actuating the cams (41) comprises at least a latch (42) integral with a cam (41), each latch (42) being on the path followed by the safety hook (21) in said opening (35) in case the user or a load falls off.
