The invention relates to a surgical insertion, retaining, fixing and/or attaching element comprising a section of shaft, part of which at least is elongated, e.g. a hip-joint endoprosthesis (10). The elongated shaft has a through-bore (20) running in a substantially longitudinal direction. An elongated sleeve or tube-type distribution element (24) is located in the through-bore (20) and lies at least partially adjacent to the wall of said through-bore (20). Said distribution element can be displaced and/or rotated in the through-bore and is provided with at least one channel opening (26), which can be or is aligned with, or brought out of alignment with a corresponding respective channel opening (22) in the shaft section, by said displacement and/or rotation of the distribution element (24).
