<p>A bipolar membrane characterised by the presence of an inert inorganic material in the interfacial region between the two membranes is disclosed. The inert inorganic material is impregnated with one or more types of ion-conducting polymer. Electrochemical cells comprising the bipolar membranes and processes for making the bipolar membranes are also disclosed.</p> |
