PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work outline recognizing device (116) which can be made remarkably small-sized and a machining device (2) with work outline recognition. The work part outline recognizing device which recognizes the outline of a work on the work part assembly supported by the supporting means is equipped with a light emitting means (118) and an image pickup means (120) which are arranged opposite each other.
