PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal member sealing an inlet opening portion and an outlet opening portion of a thermostat, in the thermostat interrupting and communicating cooling liquid flowing in a cooling liquid passage of an internal combustion engine according to changes in the temperature of the cooling liquid. SOLUTION: This thermostat is provided with a lip seal made of an elastic element such as rubber adhered to a cap portion, and two pieces of axial seal members made of an elastic element such as rubber adhered in an axial line on a peripheral surface of a valve main body between the inlet opening portion and the outlet opening portion. In the thermostat, each upper end of two axial seal members is integrally connected to an end surface of the lip seal member, thereby structuring a seal member in another body.
