PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual recognition device for a vehicle rear width capable of indicating the positing and width of one's own vehicle clearly, easily, and at a low cost. SOLUTION: The visual recognition device for the vehicle rear width has a camera which captures an image of the rear of the vehicle and a monitor 40 which shows the image from the camera. The own-vehicle-width indicating member 60, which has a length corresponding to the width of the own vehicle, is provided on the frames 42, 43. The indicating member 60 is formed separately from the monitor 40, capable of being cut to the length corresponding to the own vehicle, and constituted by an adhesive tape capable of attaching to the monitor 40. The indicating member may be a pair of laterally slidable registering member attached to the bottom frame of the monitor 40, which indicates the position and width of the own vehicle against the image by the position and clearance of the pair of the marking member. The indicating member or the pair of marking member is colored with a color having excellent visibility.
