POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION AND BOTTLE PRODUCED FROM THE RESIN COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to a resin composition comprising polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene naphthalate and a process for preparing the composition. The present invention relates also to a bottle produced from the composition and a process for the preparation of the bottle. The resin composition according to the present invention is prepared by melt-kneading (A) polyethylene terephthalate with (B) polyethylene naphthalate in a proportion of the ethylene naphthalate unit to a total of (A) and (B) of from 5 to 15 mole%, with a kneading extruder in a ratio of an extruder output rate to a screw rotation speed of 0.1 to 1.4kg/hr.rpm. The present composition gives a bottle superior in transparency and in resistance to heat and pressure despite that it has a transesterification of 20% or lower.
